Charity Rider faces Tragic death at RideLondon

RideLondon 2014 ended on a gloomy note this year following a young charity rider’s death last Sunday.
It was 36-year-old Kris Cook who injured himself at RideLondon track & later was pronounced dead while carried to hospital. The charity rider participated in 100-mile ride that carried through London & Surrey on Olympic road racing track where he crashed down with a cardiac attack. The accident happened at Guildford’s Newland Corner. Though Cook received immediate treatment on track but the arrest was too string to deny all the medical efforts.
“He was one among the twelve bikers who were raising funds for the Woking Hospice”, stated one of the spokesmen from RideLondon event. “His mom said that the only solace is that Cook met his death while doing something which he loved & she welcomed donations in her son’s memory. The RideLondon organizers express their deepest condolences to Cook’s family & friends”.
Cook was riding with girlfriend Nicola whom he promised to meet at hilltop but unfortunately he collapsed within a few minutes. Nicola expressed great dissatisfaction on the absence of proper professional treatment for her boyfriend as he crashed down with the sudden attack.
“There’re no paramedics, just 2 support vehicles”, stressed Nicola. “They gave him mouth-to-mouth whilst we waited for around 20-30 minutes till the ambulance arrived. The paramedic professionals got electric shock for him & then Kris was shifted to hospital. I was sent back home. The cops came to me & I also had talks with a Prudential official with medical background- he was not optimistic about the situation. “
A huge lot of well-wishers have hit Cook’s charity page on Facebook to offer their condolences & more than 20,000 pounds has flown in to fulfill the tragic rider’s fundraising mission.
