Contador Gives High Hopes

Recently we saw the end of the all famous tour of Liege-Bastonge-Liege for the year 2013. This year brought disappointment for the Amstel Gold race winner Roman Kreuziger. He finished ten minutes behind the winner of the race Dan Martin from the team Garmin-Sharp. This was highly disappointing performance for Kreuziger as he was considered as one of the favorites for winning this race.

Though as it is always seen that some events bring in good news for some people and bad for all the tour brought in the good news for Kreuziger’s teammate Alberto Contador. He showed signs of some good form while racing among his Saxo Bank. Contador at the start of the race was considered for a performance that was not up to the mark. But at the end of the race he surprised everyone with a performance that was far beyond expectations.

Alberto Contador showed signs of some aggression and was continuously making moves in the race. He was seen highly active in the Cote de Colonster. Then later he formed an all out attack which included his teammates, but the attack didn’t last much long and ended just behind Ryder Hesjedal. The move if lasted a bit more would have surely resulted in Contador going past Hesjedal.

Alberto finished 57th on the result list but the result didn’t reflect on what he performed on the track. At the end of the race the cyclist admitted that he didn’t get the amount of support that was required from his fellow teammates. As said by him the team should have supported the player who was feeling good while riding through the track. So this result will surely make him one of the favorites for the upcoming Tour de France. So this makes the upcoming events in the cycling season more interesting.
