If you are familiar with the thrilling sport of cycle racing and have been following the ace cyclists, then you must be aware of Robbie Mcewen.He is one of the most famous Australian road bicycle racer.

This 40 year old professionally rides for GreenEDGE, and specializes in sprint finishes. He is considered to be the fastest sprinters worldwide and he is the triple winner of Tour de France's sprinters' classification. Having started at the age of 18, at the Australian Institute of Sport, he competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics securing the 23rd position and the 2000 Summer Olympics where he successfully stood19th. He also won medals in 2002 UCI Road Cycling World Championship in Belgium.

Robbie Mcewen has won several titles like Australian Cyclist of the Year and Male Road Cyclist of the Year in 2002, before which in 1999, he was declared as Australia Male Road Cyclist of the Year. Having participated in the Tour de France for 12 times and winning most of them, he has many winning feathers in his cap.

Some of his major good performances were visible in Tour de Wallonie, Vuelta a Mallorca, Memorial Rik Van Steenbergen, Vuelta a Mallorca, Down Under Classic, Jayco Bay Classic, Tour de Suisse, Vattenfall Cyclassics, Tour de Romandie, Giro d'Italia, Tour Down Under, Tirreno–Adriatico, Jacobs Creek Classic, Memorial Samyn-Fayt-le-Franc, and many more. Robbie Mcewen also won several titles in numerous championships like Wateringse Wielerdag, Spektakel van Steenwijk, Profronde van Ooostvoorne and Gouden Pijl.

In September 2011 he joined the new Australian team GreenEDGE for which he still continues to ride. He published an autobiography in 2011 named One Way Road. He is one of the most veteran road bicycle racer and is liked by all generations. He himself is a living legend for all the newcomers in the world of cycling.
